The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) aims to reduce the impact of flooding on private and public structures by providing affordable insurance to property owners and by encouraging communities to adopt and enforce floodplain management regulations.   FEMA’s Federal Insurance and Mitigation Administration (FIMA) is committed to improving the NFIP by enhancing its efficiency and effectiveness of operation through well-defined strategic business priorities, enabled by well thought out business processes.
